                  wood wick soy canlde

First light the wood wick.  Since the wood is harder than a cotton wick it may take 2-3 attempts.  If you are still having trouble lighting the wick, try gently tipping the candle and lighting one side of the wood wick.  Once it is lit, then tip the candle the other way and let the flame travel to the other side of the wick.  After the wick is completely aflame return the candle upright.  Next let the candle burn until the melted wax touches the outer edge of the jar.  If the wood wick is not making a crackling sound as it burns, extinguish the flame, and let the wax cool to a solid form.  Trim the cooled wick to where it sits just above the wax.  It is easiest to use your fingers to trim the wood wick by breaking off the softer burned wood evenly across the wick.  It is important to keep the wick trimmed just above the wax to experience the soft crackling sound as it burns.  Now you are ready to enjoy the gourmet fragrance of your wood wick soy candle.

                                               Soy Wood Wick Candle

Have you ever camped and enjoyed the crackling sound of the campfire?  Now you can bring that joy inside your home with a soy wood wick candle.  The wick is made of wood and as it burns you can actually hear the crackling sound, just like you were in the open with your campfire.  Soy wood wick candles pervades your home with an atmosphere all their own.  The wood wick allows for faster melting of the soy wax which in turn disperses the aroma of the fragrance much quicker.

Our soy wood wick candles are made with soy wax, a wood wick, and are richly scented.  They are environmentally friendly, don’t produce the soot like paraffin candles, don’t emit toxins so are cleaner burning in your home, and last longer than traditional paraffin candles.  Wood Wick soy candles are a gourmet soy candle.  If you are looking for elegance in your home, this is the soy candle to try.

While the term “soy tart” sounds like some kind of diet-conscious candy, they are actually a form of candle. Soy tarts are small cubes of wax, usually about 1” all around. They typically come in clamshell packages with six designated spots.

Because they are individually separated within this package, you are able to break off each cube one by one. This means you can use one or all six in one sitting.

The desired number of cubes is then placed in a soy tart warmer, which melts the wax slowly. Use all six for upwards of twenty hours of vibrant fragrance.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, purchase multiple fragrances of soy tarts. Add different scents into the soy tart warmer to create your own unique fragrance. Add as many as you like. Make sure to jot down what you added together so you’ll remember what worked well together, and what made for an unpleasant coupling.

Fragrance Oils

While many marketing venues treat fragrance oils and essential oils as the same thing, they are actually quite different. Make sure you know the difference before you set out to buy, or you might find yourself disappointed in the product you receive.

In essence, essential oils are all natural. They also contain the health benefits associated with the plant from which they are derived. For this reason, they are often directly associated with aromatherapy.

Fragrance oils, on the other hand, have artificial additives. They are never used in traditional aromatherapy. Unlike essential oils, they also contain diluting carrier oils.

While fragrance oils do not necessarily carry all the specific health benefits associated with essential oils, they are nonetheless wonderfully scented additives to potpourri. And, for the budget-conscious shopper, they are also far more cost effective.

Know the differences, weigh the costs and benefits, and make an informed decision which product will suit you best.

soy candle

The event horizon of a soy wax candle versus a paraffin wax candle is a major benefit to using soy candles.  Soy wax burns at a lower temperature than paraffin wax, thus making it safer to burn.  If you have small children and some of the wax spills on them, they are much less likely to get burned.  The burn of a soy candle is slower and cooler.  This allows the candle to last up to 50% longer than a paraffin candle.  The soy candle will give off a longer and more intense fragrance due to the slower burn time.  Just one more benefit of a soy wax candle and reason to choose soy wax candles for your home.

soy wax candlesHave you ever had an elegant dinner party and the candle wax ran down onto your fine linen tablecloth?  What a difficult if not impossible endeavour to get it out.  Well those candles were made from paraffin wax and are very hard to get out of clothing and off of surfaces.  You would have to spend hours with a hot iron and blotting cloth, trying to get the paraffin wax out of your fine linen tablecloth.

Well the simpler way to clean that tablecloth would be to burn a soy wax candle instead.  If the soy wax gets onto your tablecloth or clothing, all you have to do is use soap and water, and presto, it is out.  Another fine advantage with using soy wax is that you can reuse the container by just washing it with soap and water.  So many candles come in such elegant containers, it is a shame to have to throw them out after the candle is gone.  Now you can save the container and use it again and again.  If you are into making your own soy wax candles, think how much money you can save by reusing the containers again and again.  It is also a great way to help reduce the amount of  garbage sent to the city dumps thus helping to keep the environment cleaner.

So still the question of the day is: soy wax candles versus paraffin wax candles?  Once again it is your choice and may you make the wisest and most economical choice for yourself and the environment.

soy wax candlesThe origin of soy wax is from soybeans.  Soybeans are a renewable resource, grown all around the world.  Soy wax is made from hydrogenating the oil of the soybeans.  The origin of paraffin wax is from kerosene.  It is the final left over byproduct of petroleum refining.  When we burn soy wax candles we help to support the farming industry of America and reduce our dependency on foreign oil.

Soy wax candles are healthier to burn than paraffin.  They do not contain the dangerous elements that paraffin do, 11 of them having been detected by the EPA.  Some of these have been shown to be carcinogenic.  One of them is carbon tetrachloride, which can cause liver, kidney, and central nervous system damage with chronic exposure to it.  Some other contaminants to the air with paraffin wax fumes are toluene, benzene, methyl ethyl ketone, and naphthalene.  These substances are also found in paint and varnish removers.  The soot of paraffin wax candles is the same as that produced by burning diesel fuel.  The American Lung Association has given warnings in regard to burning paraffin wax candles, citing them as a cause of indoor air contamination.

So the question today is: soy wax candles versus paraffin wax candles?  It is your decision which one to burn.  May you make a healthy and wise economic choice.
