What is soot? Ever had a candle that has black around the inside of the glass jar? The dictionary says: “soot is the black substance that is formed when something burns”. Traditional candles {paraffin} are made from petroleum products which contain many carcinogenic toxins. When traditional candles burn they release these toxic substances, which in turn forms the soot. The soot not only attaches itself to the jar, but to your walls, ceiling, furniture and even ventilation ducting.
One way to reduce the soot emissions in your home is to burn soy candles. They are made from soybeans. Soy wax burns cleaner than traditional pafaffin candles and is non-toxic. So when you burn soy candles, the air in your home is not being polluted by toxic carcinogens. Also the home itself and decor will appreciate the fresh look it will be able to retain, instead of the newely acquired sooty look. It makes health sense to burn soy candles!
